Species of Spaces

On Monday 28th February Tate Modern will be screening Raphaël Zarka’s film Species of Spaces in Skateboarding. Drawn from about 40 skateboarding videos or films shot between 1964 and 2006, Zarka’s film catalogues skateboarding realms and outlines the relation between ‘as found’ spaces (as those appropriated by the skateboarders) and spaces especially designed and built for the same practice. The screenings will be followed by a panel discussion about the artist’s work with Raphaël Zarka and  Iain Borden, Professor of Architecture and Urban Culture at UCL.
